Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, our representative will greet you and escort you to your vehicle for your journey to Kandy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. Renowned for its scenic beauty and rich history, it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enroute: Before reaching Kandy, we’ll stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a sanctuary dedicated to orphaned, injured, and abandoned elephants. Here, you can observe the caretakers feed and bathe the elephants and even join the herd on their walk to the river for a playful bath. Noon to Evening: Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist temple housing the tooth relic of the Buddha, which is one of the most sacred objects in Buddhism. Learn about the temple's rich history, dating back to the 4th century A.D. In the evening, enjoy the Kandy Cultural Show, a colorful performance of traditional Sri Lankan dance, music, and cultural expressions.
After breakfast at your hotel, start your day with a visit to the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. Spread across 147 acres, the garden is home to more than 4,000 species of plants, including rare and endemic flora. It’s the perfect place for nature lovers to explore Sri Lanka’s diverse plant life. Enroute: On the way to Nuwara Eliya, stop at the Ramboda Hanumanji Temple, a significant Hindu site where it is believed that Hanuman first set foot in Sri Lanka during his search for Sita. We’ll also visit the beautiful Ramboda Falls, a majestic sight set against the backdrop of lush greenery. Afternoon to Evening: Continue your drive to Nuwara Eliya, famously known as Sri Lanka’s “Little England” due to its British colonial influence. Surrounded by picturesque mountains, valleys, waterfalls, and tea plantations, Nuwara Eliya enjoys a cool, spring-like climate. On arrival, take a relaxing stroll around the scenic Gregory Lake, known for its tranquil beauty.
After breakfast at your hotel, we’ll drive to Colombo, passing through Sri Lanka's vibrant landscapes. Noon to Evening: Upon arrival, enjoy a guided City Tour of Colombo. Explore both the bustling commercial areas and the serene residential neighborhoods like Cinnamon Gardens. Visit the Fort, a former British administrative center, and wander through the Pettah Bazaar and Sea Street, the heart of the goldsmith district.
